I received this book for free from NetGalley in exchange for my honest opinion. No other compensation was received and all opinions are my own.
It’s been a while since I’ve seen a fresh take on paranormal-type books. Usually if they deal with paranormal, it’s a simple haunting that causes problems for the the main character. In this case, the main character has been trying very hard to ignore the fact that ghosts even exist for years – and with good reason. They can be dangerous.
The Girl Who Ignored Ghosts is Book 1 in The Unbelievables series. It took me about a day to read it, in between having to do things like cook dinner and do housework. It’s a very good read, and very well written. Plenty of things to keep the reader interested – and plenty of questions to keep the reader’s mind turning over.
If there is one thing I can’t stand in a book with a hint of mystery, it is not having questions constantly running through my brain about who did it, why they did it, etc. This book doesn’t leave you with no questions – and it doesn’t leave you with questions that aren’t answered – except one. But that question is sure to be answered in later books – this is, after all, just the first book in the series.
This book gets five stars from me because it’s a great read, a quick read, and it keeps the reader wanting more. I can’t wait for the second book to come out.
The Girl Who Ignored Ghosts is slated for release on August 1, 2015 and will be published by Beckett Publishing Group.
